Following the biosecurity measures against the coronavirus, the provincial municipality of Trujillo has started distributing Glass of Milk products to 68 mothers’ clubs for the benefit of 7,400 people. Delivery is made through the sub-directorate of food programs of the aforementioned municipality, it is monthly and for three days to avoid crowds and possible COVID-19 infections. Representatives of mothers’ clubs collect food, in this case evaporated milk and flakes, from the warehouse of the Department of Social Development. “Product delivery has not stopped despite the pandemic; also be evaluated to properly feed our beneficiaries. In addition, we monitor children and the elderly to prevent them from suffering from malnutrition. Social support will not stop, we must respond to state policies to continue to protect vulnerable people, ”explained Glass of Milk program manager William Pestaje. The official explained that the beneficiaries are divided into two groups: the first priority is to serve children from 0 to 6 months and up to 6 years; and the second priority includes minors over 6, pregnant women, people with tuberculosis or malnutrition and the elderly.
