AMLO rules out third wave of Covid-19 infections – La Prensa

In the absence of peaks in Covid-19 infections, President Andrés Manuel López Obrador has ruled out a third wave. “It is decreasing, that is, there is no upward trend that could mean or represent that there is going to be a third wave,” he said. During the morning conference, he accused his opponents of having “politicized” the vaccination of doctors and health workers in private hospitals because they have all been vaccinated. He pointed out that all health workers in the public and private sectors who are on the front line of patient care have already been vaccinated. López Obrador assured that the vaccination of all teachers in Nayarit and Veracruz was practically completed. Vaccination of public and private education staff will continue to be able to restart face-to-face classes, he said. ➡️ Stay informed on our Google News channel “In this week, according to the commitment we made, the vaccination of the elderly ends with the application of at least one dose”, he commented. The president reiterated the call to those who did not want to be vaccinated, to do so when the second doses are applied in their locality. Given the pandemic situation in India, he said, Mexico will not require the shipment of another equal amount of agreed vaccines. “We have already sent them to say that we will not need them, that we understand their situation, it is a way of expressing our solidarity.” He stressed that our country is in the 12th place in the world in the application of vaccines.
