The authorities have announced the extension of hours in the markets of Mérida, given the change in color of the epidemiological fire decreed last Thursday. The municipal council of Mérida, has informed that from this day the doors of the municipal markets of ‘Lucas de Gálvez’ and ‘San Benito’, will be able to work until 10 o’clock in the evening, in order to promote the mobility of sellers and of customers, in favor of the economy. The deputy director of the markets of the municipality, Fernando Aguiar Sierra, mentioned that all these measures were determined in accordance with the yellow light, precisely, and therefore from today the calendar of municipal markets is as follows: from Sunday to Wednesday (unrestricted hours) will operate from 5:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m., while Thursday through Saturday (restricted hours) it will be from 6:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. Likewise, the municipality has authorized the placement of a maximum of 10 street vendors near San Juan Park, located in the historic center.
