So many young girls grew up looking up to Ireen Mambilima. She is a lady that reached the peak of her career but never let it get to her head. My grandmother always told me good things about how she was an awesome wife to her husband too. Its been a sad month💔

As the National Congress of Democracy (NDC), we welcome the plaintiff who has formally written to the judiciary to decide to establish a tribunal to investigate Jean Kapata, Minister of Lands.

This is related to the illegal distribution of land in Lusaka Forest Reserve No. 27.

William Harrington and another elder were the imminent people who demanded the formation of this court. According to the procedure, Judge Manbilima is responsible for establishing the court.

However, we believe that Judge Irene Manbilima is not the right person to establish this court. Judge Manbilima should avoid this matter. The reason for saying this is that the same “Venerable” Chief Justice is the beneficiary of this land, not only in Lusaka Forest 27, but also in Seyun Temple Forest 42.

In this sense, Judge Manbilima is asked to entrust the Vice President of the Supreme Court to deal with the matter. Judge Manbilima is very interested in this matter and we believe that she cannot handle this matter fairly.

As a national data center, we were surprised that a person in charge of justice was cited in the suspicious land allocation. To make matters worse, the Chief Justice did not defend herself on how she miraculously benefited from the land in the two forest reserves.

Judge Manbilima set a terrible precedent in the judiciary. Ms. Manbilima clearly sent a signal to the judiciary and the archives that corruption is the norm in the judiciary. She wouldn’t be surprised to hear about rampant corruption in the judicial system, because the system’s respect for her honor has eroded.
