Jay DaYoungan has broken the law several times. The Louisiana native has been charged with numerous crimes since 2019. In May of the same year, he was arrested for possession of a firearm. He was then charged with assaulting his girlfriend, who was pregnant at the time of the attack.
Much later, on September 21, he was arrested for second-degree murder. The arrest is related to a 2020 gang-related shootout in which an innocent man was killed by a stray bullet.
Other charges against the 23 island rappers include drug possession and child kidnapping. The last time he broke the law was in October last year. He was pulled over at a traffic stop and police found a firearm “obtained from another state”.
A few months later, in December, a jury decided to indict the rapper, whose real name is Javarious Scott — and now he knows his fate.
At the time, he faced five years in prison, three years of probation and a $250,000 fine — but apparently less. After serving seven months in prison, a judge sentenced him on June 16 to a year of supervised release, a $5,500 fine and a mandatory $100 special inspection fee.
When he gets out of prison in 2021, the rapper released a “First Day Out” record to celebrate being a free man. The 22-year-old hasn’t given up on anything so far, but it could be on its way.
