Police in Idaho announced on Tuesday that a car left abandoned in Oregon with a 2013 white Hyundai Elantra sedan isn’t connected to the murder of four University of Idaho students in November.
The Moscow Police Department informed the public about a damaged Hyundai Elantra the owner had spoken with investigators about on December 17.
The police department in Moscow, Idaho stated in a Tuesday update that the female owner of the vehicle is not believed to have any relation to any property in Moscow or the ongoing murder investigations. Additionally, the vehicle was involved in a collision and subsequently impounded.
According to law enforcement, the Oregon car identified as a Hyundai Elantra has no connection to the quadruple homicide in Moscow, Idaho.
An investigator found a homeless person sleeping in the damaged vehicle on December 17. This was the only report the caller made.
Before the Idaho quadruple homicide, police were searching for a car that was seen near the scene in the early morning. The car was a white Hyundai Elantra.
Police announced a be-on-the-lookout alert for the occupants of the vehicle on the day in question on Dec. 7. Although no one has come forward since then, the alert is still active.
